Piercing FAQ

How do I prepare for a piercing?

  • Get enough sleep the night before, make sure you’re hydrated, and have eaten in the last 3-4 hours. If you’re getting an oral piercing, make sure you have softer foods ready for you at home for the next few days.

Will you pierce me with a hoop?

  • We will not. Hoops for most people and most piercings can cause major healing issues. Our general rule of thumb is that you can switch to a hoop as early as 6 months from the date of piercing as long as everything is healing well. Some piercings like the septum and daith will start with a hoop type jewelry due to the location of the piercing.

What do I need to get pierced?

  • If you’re an adult, we need some form of physical government identification. This can be a driver’s license, state ID card, tribal ID card, passport, or passport card.

  • If you’re a minor; your adult needs one of the above-mentioned forms of ID and you need a physical copy of your birth certificate/copy of, passport, state ID/permit, tribal ID, military ID.

  • If you are a legal guardian, you must bring your legal guardianship paperwork issued to you by the state. If you are a foster parent, we are currently unable to pierce the child in your care at this time and are happy to suggest other shops that accommodate this better.

  • We will not accept student ID for minors.

  • We will not accept pictures of identification for adults or minors. If we have to turn you away for missing or improper identification and cannot accommodate you the same day, you will lose your deposit.

Can I go swimming with a fresh piercing?

  • You can’t go swimming/soaking for the first 1.5-2 months of having a fresh piercing. Showers are fine. Piercings are open wounds, by soaking them you have a higher chance of infection, rejection, complications, and extending your healing time.

I want to get my minor pierced, what do I need for this?

  • To do a minor piercing, we need PHYSICAL copies of identification. This can be a birth certificate/copy of, state ID/permit/license, tribal ID, passport/passport card, or military ID. Student ID will NOT be accepted.

Who can sign for a minor?

  • Parents, step parents, and legal guardians. If you are the legal guardian, please bring your paperwork for the release form.

Will you use a numbing agent?

  • We will not. The type of anesthetics required to numb the area are prescription from a medical professional. We are not medical professionals and cannot legally provide medications whether that is an oral, topical, or injectable.

  • If you use a topical numbing agent at home, you may have to forfeit your appointment and deposit if the piercer deems it. These impact blood flow to the area. It can lead to tissue not sitting correctly during the piercing, leading to crooked piercings, delayed healing, and rejection.

How do I take care of my piercing?

  • Please see this page for aftercare instructions.
